Ahmet Akca (Türk Telekom Group)

Ahmet Akca graduated from Middle East Technical University in 2004 and had MSc in Finance degree from London Business School in 2011. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) chart-holder since 2013. He is currently studying his PhD at Bahçeşehir University Industrial Engineering department. After completing his bachelor’s degree, he worked as an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers and finance specialist at Erdemir. In 2007, he started working at Turk Telekom Group. Having worked in several management roles in Treasury and Financial Control directorates, Ahmet Akca currently serves as Financial Risk Management Group Manager at Turk Telekom Group.

M. Hakan Akyüz (Galatasaray University)
Assistant Professor

M. Hakan Akyüz received his B.S., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial Engineering from İstanbul Technical University in 2002, Galatasaray University in 2005 and Boğaziçi University in 2011, respectively. He was a research assistant at Galatasaray University from 2003 to 2014. He focused on a facility location problem in his Ph.D. studies. He worked at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology from January 2012 to September 2013 as a post-doctoral research fellow. He was part of a project on promoting Hong Kong's ocean container transport logistics network. During this period, he studied on various problems concerning container terminal operations and ocean liner shipping services. M. Hakan Akyüz is with the Department of Industrial Engineering at Galatasaray University, İstanbul, as an assistant professor since February 2014.

Müge Gültekin-Erzin

Müge Gültekin-Erzin received her B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from Middle East Technical University in 1992. She received her M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering in 1996, M.S. in Statistics in 1997 and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering in 2000 from Rutgers University. Her research was on Statistical Process Control with a focus on detection of shifts in the process means. She worked at Household Auto Finance Company (USA), Arcelik, American Express (USA), Koc University, EAksoy Consultancy and Training, and Valeocon Management Consulting. In most stages of her career, she led projects which aimed to analyze and improve the processes and business units. She received the Leadership in Action Award at American Express for her performance in Project Management. During her Six Sigma experience she did consulting, training and coaching in white goods, cement, waste management, pharmaceutical and health care industries.

Okay Işık (Istanbul Kultur University)
Assistant Professor

Okay Işık received his B.S., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Turkish Air Force Academy Electronics Engineering Department in 1992, Middle East Technical University Industrial Engineering Department in 2001 and Old Dominion University Engineering Management Department in 2009, respectively. He worked as an Instructor in Turkish Air Force Academy between 2001 and 2013. His Ph.D. topic was “An Integrated Probability Based Approach for Multiple Response Surface Optimization”. His research interest is in Decision Theory, Discrete Event Simulation, Statistical Quality Control, Design for Six Sigma, DMAIC, Design and Analysis of Experiments, Multiple Response Surface Methodology and Optimization Techniques. After his retirement from the Air Force in 2015, Dr. Okay Işık worked as an instructor in the industrial engineering departments of different universities in Turkey.

Günay Kocasoy (Boğaziçi University - Retired Faculty Member)

Prof. Dr. Günay Kocasoy graduated from the Department of Business Administration/Industrial Management, Franklin University (USA) in 1971 after receiving her B.Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering from Robert College. She worked at Warren Teed Pharmaceuticals (Columbus/Ohio) first as a Quality Control Engineer and then as a Research Engineer until 1974. After returning to Turkey, she received her M.Sc. degree in 1984, Ph.D. degree in 1988, Associate Professor title in 1989 and Professor title in 1995 in Environmental Sciences. Prof. Dr. Kocasoy retired from the Faculty of Engineering and Institute of Environmental Sciences, Boğaziçi University in December 2010, where she had been working as a faculty member since 1977. She is currently a part-time instructor at Boğaziçi University. In addition, she has been working at the Department of Industrial Engineering, MEF University since February 2016.
